Early Morning Police Chase Results In Waite Park Crash

WAITE PARK -- An early morning police chase resulted in a crash near Parkwood 18 in Waite Park today (Friday).

The Benton County Sheriff Department says they received several complaint calls about a vehicle heading toward St. Cloud around 6:30 a.m.

A Stearns County caller reported the same vehicle near Wells Fargo Bank weaving and dragging something underneath that was causing sparks.

The St. Cloud Police Department says they tried to stop the vehicle but the driver fled and later crashed near 15th Avenue South and County Road 75 in Waite Park.

The incident is under investigation. More information is expected to be released.
