E. Scott Bryce, age 87, St. Cloud, MN, passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at Talahi Care Center, St. Cloud, MN.

For religious reasons and per Scott’s request there will be no funeral services. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Scott was born September 28, 1927 in Fresno, CA to Ellsworth and Faye E. (Wilson) Bryce. He was united in marriage to Marilynn “Lynn” Blow in New York City. He served in the United States Army in Korea. Scott received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, and did his masters degree work at University of Iowa and his doctoral work at Indiana University. He taught at the University of North Dakota and then in the Speech Department at St. Cloud State University, where he also co-founded the Mass Communication Department. Scott with his wife, Lynn, established and co-directed, the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education at St. Cloud State University. He was a founding member of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra at St. John’s University.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lynn Bryce of St. Cloud, MN; daughter, Francis-Clare (Richard) Fischer of Bernard, IA; and sister, Kathy Taylor of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Peter Scott Bryce on May 16, 2005, daughter, Stephanie Lynnette Bryce on June 1, 2007, and sister, Dorothy Schwob.
