ST. PAUL (AP) -- The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says there will be added officers on the road over Super Bowl weekend, in search of drunken drivers.

Authorities say more than 1,400 motorists were arrested for drunken driving during Super Bowl weekends from 2007 through 2009.

During the same period, alcohol-related crashes accounted for two of five motorists killed.

Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says Super Bowl party hosts and friends should figure out a plan before Sunday's game so everyone has a sober ride.
