Duluth Woman Charged With $800,000 Jewelry Theft
DULUTH (AP) - A Duluth woman has been charged with stealing $800,000 worth of jewelry from the jewelry store where she worked.
Court records say 29-year-old Ashley Marie Wiskow began pawning jewelry to make ends meet but the thefts from Security Jewelers escalated over two years.
A Duluth Police Department investigator uncovered the thefts while checking pawn shop records in another burglary case. A police report says Wiskow made 278 sales to pawn shops beginning in February 2011.
Wiskow was charged Nov. 15 with felony theft. She did not immediately respond to a message left by The Associated Press at a phone number listed in her name.
