DULUTH (AP) - Residents and businesses in Duluth are being asked to conserve water usage until Thursday evening, as crews work to repair several water main breaks.

The Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department says crews are also conducting maintenance on a water transmission line, which is a main feeder that serves all parts of the city.

Officials say water service won't be interrupted, but the system could be strained if there is high demand.

Residents are asked to wait until Thursday evening to use appliances that use a lot of water, such as washing machines, dishwashers, or hot tubs. The public is also asked to refrain from watering lawns.
