MINNEAPOLIS -- Two people have drowned in Minnesota lakes.

Both drownings happened on a hot Saturday - one northwest of Minneapolis, the other in western Minnesota.

In Elk River, a man in his 40s went underwater while swimming in Lake Orono. The man was pulled from the water, but he could not be resuscitated.
