WRIGHT COUNTY -- Residents of Wright County are ask to be on the lookout of a driveway repair scam.

Wright County Sheriff Joe Hagerty says they have received calls about contractors selling driveway services and not completing the work.

The contractors ask the home owner for the money up front without completing repairs, starting repairs without permission, or offer free services then billing them thousands of dollars over the agreed price.

To avoid being a victim, Hagerty says to work with established companies, verify references, and be cautious of companies asking for payment up front.

If you think you have been a victim of this scam you are asked to contact your local law enforcement.
