Driver Swerves to Avoid Deer, Rolls Car

ST. AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP -- A Litchfield man escaped injury after rolling his car in St. Augusta Township Monday night.

The Stearns County Sheriff's office says 24-year-old Spencer Phillips was traveling south on County Road 142 at around 10:15 p.m. when he swerved to avoid a deer, overcorrected, left the roadway and rolled. The car came to rest in a corn field.

Phillips was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt, but his car is considered a total loss.
