Downtown St. Cloud Parking Lot Could Be Developed Into Condominiums [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD - Loft-style condominiums are being planned for downtown St. Cloud. A South Dakota-base group called Makenda LLC has their eye on a parking lot on West St. Germain Street - next to St. Cloud Floral - for a six-story, 41-unit building.

Spokesman Rod Lindquist says they are confident there's a desire for this type of living in the downtown.

The one and two bedroom units would range in price from $180,000 to $250,000.

Lindquist says they still have several steps to go through with the city before it becomes a reality. Tonight (Thursday) the EDA board, which owns the property, will discuss a letter of intent to sell the lot to the group.

If everything goes smoothly construction would begin early next spring, and would be completed in 2016.
