UNDATED - The National Weather Services says a few inches of rain fell in a very short period of time for parts of Central Minnesota this (Monday) afternoon, including much of the St. Cloud metro area.

Two to three inch rainfall reports have been common.  The heavy rain caused flash flooding for some low-lying streets.  Also, there were a few reports of vehicles getting stranded in the water.

Meanwhile, other areas saw much less rain.  We have a report of an inch up the hill in Sauk Rapids, and only a sprinkle in Rice.

The official rainfall total yesterday at the St. Cloud Regional Airport was just .17 of an inch of rain.
