Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater for Dorothy K. Kruger, age 76, of Maple Lake, who peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at her home. The Reverend Dennis Backer will officiate.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, with Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 9:30 AM, all on Monday at the Church. Burial will take place at a later date at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope, MN.

Dorothy was born on May 20, 1939 to James “Jack” C. and Martha B. (Bauer) DeValk in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1957. She married James Thomas Kruger on April 22, 1961 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Crystal, MN. She worked in Human Resource service for 40 years.

Dorothy was an avid reader, enjoying biographies and novels. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, hand sewing and quilting. In her younger years she enjoyed hunting with Tom, but later became his photographer as the hunts became more difficult.

She is survived by her husband; children, Faith (Jon) Ford and Patrick (partner, Beverly Knegendorf); grand-daughters, Brittany, Melissa and Eileen; siblings, Roberta (Joseph) Rakos, Rita (Lawrence) Hagen, Diane (Harold) Hedlund and Catherine (Frederick) Hobbs; brother-in-law, Richard “Joe” (Ruth) Kruger; sisters-in-law, Rose Marie West, Jean Ludwig and Donna Kruger; aunt, Rose Mary Kuch and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents.
