Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday August 9, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church In Sauk Rapids for Dorothy Piasecki who died Tuesday morning at St. Benedict’s Center in St. Cloud. The Rev. Ron Weyrens will officiate and entombment will be in Hilltop Mausoleum in Sauk Rapids. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in Sauk Rapids. Sacred Heart Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m., followed by Christian Mothers (St. Monica’s Society) and the Daughter of Isabella both praying at 5:00 p.m., and the Sauk Rapids VFW Auxiliary praying at 6:00 p.m. all Friday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.

Dorothy was born in Harding to John & Mary (Brisk) Kurtz. She served her country in the United States Navy during WWII. She married Aloys “Al” Piasecki on June 29, 1954 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding. She worked as an elementary school teacher in the Sartell School District for 28 years, teaching 2nd grade. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids, NTRA, AARP, and past member of RSVP. She participated in the Lauback Reading Program, Christian Mothers (past president), Daughters of Isabella, the Sauk Rapids VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #6992, and Caritas Food Shelf. She was a member of Women in the Military-having served in the Navy WAVES. Dorothy was a classy soft spoken lady who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was a good listener and a great teacher. She always stuck to a project that interested her. She was a great mother and grandmother and was a great cook when she wanted to be.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Sue) of Hoffman Heights, IL, Kathy (Scott) Farnes of Burnsville, Nancy (Bob) Anderson of St. Cloud; sister, Bernice Schley of Garrison; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al on April 13, 1994; brother, John Kurtz; and sister, Lorraine Hayes.
