Donna J. Bavery, 82, Saint Cloud

August 16, 1933 - December 26, 2015

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday January 2, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in St. Cloud for Donna Bavery who died Saturday at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Pastor Bill Yueill will officiate. Private family burial will be on a later date at North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud. Visitation will be from 4-8PM on Friday January 1, 2016 at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in St. Cloud and 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church in St. Cloud.

Donna was born in Macomb, IL to William P. & Mary L. (Robinson) Etter. She married Edgar A. Bavery on June 13, 1953 in Ipava, IL. She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and later received her master’s degree from St. Cloud State University. She and Edgar lived in the communities of Burlington, IA, Lewistown, IL, DeKalb, IL and Albuquerque, NM and finally St. Cloud. Donna worked as a home economics teacher and substitute teacher in the St. Cloud area for many years. She was very involved in her church and was also active in the Sweet Adeline’s Singing group for over 35 years. She also loved to spend time with her friends quilting, swimming at the YMCA, and the SCSU Faculty Gourmet group. She was a past member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and St. Louis Cardinal baseball teams.

Survivors include her daughter and son, Alisa (Thomas) Skinner of New Lenox, IL; Edward of St. Cloud; sister, Patricia (Roland) Deterding of Bloomington, IL; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister and brothers in law, Mildred Bavery, Ross Brown, and William (Kathryn) Bavery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edgar in 2005, sister Elizabeth Ann Brown, sister in law, Ruby Bavery.
