Donald “Don” Ross McElderry, 83

February 20, 1934 - October 4, 2017

Donald “Don” Ross McElderry, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at the Heritage House in Pequot Lakes, MN, after several years of health issues.

Don was born to the late Rosco and Edna (Otis) McElderry in Minneapolis. He grew up in St. Louis Park and graduated from St. Louis Park High School. He was an independent truck driver for many years and worked for the TJ Potter company. Don enjoyed being at his cabin on Mille Lacs Lake as well as deer hunting, traveling, and going on cruises.

Don is survived by his children, Carol (Bud) Maliongas, Larry (Joyce) McElderry, Donald McElderry, Jr., Robert McElderry, and Michele (Eric) Gave; his brother, Grover (Jeanie) McElderry; sister, Mary (James) Zimmerman; several step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rosco and Edna; Delores McElderry (mother of Carol and Larry); Phyllis McElderry (mother of Donald Jr., Robert, and Michele).

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 11AM.
