Don Harms, age 77, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at his new home in Foley.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church, Oak Park. The Rev. Ray Glenn will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion, Post 298. Private family burial will be at Alta Vista Cemetery, Taunton, MN.

Friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday at the Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Don Harms was born May 4, 1938 in Lac Qui Parle Township to John and Donna (Johnson) Harms. He married Carol Hauschild on April 18, 1959 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He attended Canby Schools and worked for the Canby Co-op. Don also farmed near Gary, St. Leo and most recently near Foreston, MN. He was a US Air Force Veteran from 1956-1957 and the Army National Guard from 1957-1960. Don enjoyed genealogy, dancing and evening meals with his friends and family. He also loved exercising at the YMCA, playing cards and golfing. Don was a member of Swan Lake Evangelical Free Church in Cottonwood was excited to be baptized as a believer on August 22, 2012 by Rev. Glenn.

Don is survived by his wife, Carol of Foley son and daughters; David (Barbara), St. Cloud; Diane (Mike) Fischer, Wausau, WI; Darla (Ray) Olson, Foley; a family friend who they loved like a daughter, Pam Niesen, Marshall; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Carol), Clarkfield; sister-in-law, Mildred Josephson, Marshall and brothers-in-law, Arnold Hauschild, Marshall and Howie Jurgeson of Clarkfield.
