Dollar Tree To Move Into Former Space Aliens Building In Waite Park

WAITE PARK --  A Dollar Tree will soon be coming to Waite Park.

The discount general store will be moving into the former Space Aliens restaurant building.

Waite Park Planning and Community Development Director Jon Noerenberg says they were approached by the business several months ago, who felt the site was an ideal location.

"It's a good retail area, it's high traffic, high visibility and I think it's something they saw that would be marketable and would have a lot of stop in traffic," says Noerenberg.

The tenants plan to lease the building and hopes to begin renovations to the inside within the next few weeks.

Noerenberg says they are excited to have the business in town and to occupy another vacant building in the city.

"It's something we are looking forward to and we are happy they were able to secure a tenant for that location and hopefully they will have some long term success there," says Noerenberg.

Dollar Tree plans to be opened in time for the holiday season. Space Aliens has been closed since July 2014.
