Division Street Dairy Queen to Close Sunday

ST. CLOUD -- This weekend will be your last chance to get an ice cream cone or a Dilly Bar at the Division Street Dairy Queen. Owner Bob Lahr says Sunday will be their last day at that location.

Dairy Queen is moving just to the south, where the Mexican Village Too! was located. The store is moving to make way for a new CVS Pharmacy at the corner of Division Street and 25th Avenue.

Lahr says it will be with mixed emotions when he locks those doors for the last time.  He says he grew up in that building and it will be hard to say goodbye.  But, Lahr says a new building with state-of-the-art equipment, more room and a drive-thru will be nice.

Lahr says the building will be torn down sometime in mid-September.

He's hoping to break ground on their new Dairy Queen as soon as September 10th. He expects to be open for business about the same time he always opens for the season...late next February.
