ST.CLOUD -- The Great River Regional Library hosts monthly seminars that bring people of different races, religions and backgrounds together through conversation in a comfortable setting.

Tonight's seminar, "Embracing Diversity: Making St. Cloud Safe and Welcoming for All People," featured host Denny Smith and guest speaker, John Lewis.

Smith, a former Tech High School teacher, explains why he started these seminars.

Lewis, who is the assistant athletic director for St. Cloud State, says he wanted to relate to the audience by sharing his background and personal experiences.

Lewis says his main point of the discussion is the access - or lack of access - to opportunities.

If you are interested in attending the next seminar taking place in September, more information on "Embracing Diversity" can be found on Facebook.
