DULUTH (AP) — A longtime fishing Guide for the Gunflint Lodge is presumed dead after a boating accident.

Fishing guide Dennis Todd was enjoying a day off Thursday and was out on the lakes with a new employee.

Ontario Provincial Police say Todd and the woman were thrown from the boat, and Todd did not resurface. The woman was wearing a life jacket and swam to an island. But the 59-year-old Todd was not wearing a life jacket.

Police say the woman was found wet and alone on an island in Northern Light Lake, which is in Ontario.

Gunflint Lodge co-owner Bruce Kerfoot says police told him they are now calling this a recovery effort, and divers are searching for Todd's body.
