District 742 Sees Enrollment Decline, 534 Fewer Elementary Students
ST. CLOUD - Enrollment is down this year in the St. Cloud area school district.
The decline in students is mainly in the elementary schools. Oak Hill has 157 fewer students, Madison is down 128, and Clearview has 69 less students. The only elementary school in the district that has an enrollment increase is Kennedy in St. Joseph, which is up 59.
Combined enrollment is up slightly at the 7th and 8th grade level (1,408 total). Meanwhile Apollo has one more student (1,438), and Tech is up 68 (1,502).
Total enrollment in the District 742 this year is 9,881, down from 10,157 students last year.
WJON News has left messages with the school district to get more information on the numbers, but we have not heard back from district leaders yet.
