DFL Newcomer Zach Dorholt Unseats King Banaian for State House [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD – A major upset on election night in the race for State House District 14B.
Democrat Zachary Dorholt has unseated incumbent GOP Representative King Banaian, running for a second term, by a unexpectedly wide 56% of the vote.
While the 2012 election marks Dorholt’s first run at a state office, he’s not a newcomer to the world of Minnesota politics, having worked with late local representative Larry Haws.

Dorholt says he attributes much of his success with the campaign to a younger, more progressive population of people with a desire to defeat this year’s constitutional amendments.
