Dena Orton, age 93, of Princeton, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Dena was born on December 27, 1922 in Milo Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Martin and Albertha (Koelikamp) Stob.

In 1926 she moved with her family near Foreston and attended District 6 School. In 1936 they moved to Oak Park and she worked for area farmers. On October 20, 1945 she was united in marriage to Claude Orton and the couple moved to Fort Ripley and started farming. In 1947 they moved back to Milo Township where they continued farming until buying a small home near Princeton in 1984. The couple retired in 1995. Dena also worked for Fingerhut for nearly 32 years retiring in 1988 as their longest term employee. Dena enjoyed farming with her husband for 50 years, especially milking cows by hand. Dena had a deep faith and was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church in Princeton. She enjoyed her big garden and canning and freezing fruits and vegetables. She also loved her flowers. She especially loved her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Dena is survived by her children, James (Kathy) Orton of Princeton, Susan (Roger) Sampson of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Kevin Orton of Princeton; 5 grandchildren, Bradley (Rebecca) Orton, Stacie (Jason) Bruss, Jill (Danny) Moore, Katie Orton and Aaron Sampson; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Stob and Myrna Stob both of Milaca; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Claude; siblings, Teunis, Alice, Theodore, Albert, John, Jennie, William and Cornelius, also an infant brother and sister.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Freshwaters United Methodist Church, River Campus, in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM at the church. Interment will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.

Dena's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Princeton Elim Home for Dena's care.
