MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis man who was shot nearly seven years ago has died, and authorities have ruled it was a homicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says Sunday that 50-year-old Lionel Miles died Wednesday at Assisted Living at Lyndale Manor in north Minneapolis.

Miles was shot on Nov. 11, 2007 in north Minneapolis. The medical examiner says complications from the shooting led to his death.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder says the man who shot Miles pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in 2009 and was sentenced to prison.

Elder says that man can't be charged again for the same crime.

Authorities haven't said what prompted the shooting.
