MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The inspector general for the Department of Veterans Affairs is investigating allegations that the appointment records of a retired Marine from Clear Lake were falsified to cover up delays in patient care at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.

The announcement follows calls from Minnesota's congressional delegation that VA records show a neurology exam for Jordan Buisman was rescheduled four days after his death.

His family believes the record was falsified.

Buisman had been told he'd have to wait almost 70 days to see a specialist at the Minneapolis VA neurology clinic but died of a seizure disorder 24 days before his appointment in 2012.

Buisman was born in St. Cloud and graduated from Kimball High School.
