ST. PAUL (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton has ordered U.S. and Minnesota flags lowered to half-staff Friday to honor a Minnesota soldier killed in Iraq.

Twenty-year-old Spc. Emilio Campo Jr. will be laid to rest in his hometown of Madelia. Dayton is scheduled to attend Campo's funeral.

Campo was a 20-year-old medic who joined the U.S. Army to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. He was one of five soldiers who died June 6 in a rocket attack.

His funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church in Madelia.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Madelia following the funeral.
