David R. Driver, 77, St. Cloud

June 3, 1938 - September 22, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 25, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for David R. Driver, 77, of St. Cloud, who went to be with the Lord on September 22, surrounded by his loving family. The Reverend LeRoy Scheierl will officiate. Entombment will be at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Family and Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and from 9:30 - 10:30 AM on Friday at the Church. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home.

Dave was born in Eden Valley, Minnesota to Alva and Christine (Lehnen) Driver on June 3, 1938. He attended St. Anthony’s grade school and graduated from Technical High School in 1957. On February 13, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary “Marge” Schneider at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. They lived in St. Cloud until they built their lake home on Pleasant Lake in 1984. Dave worked at Fandel’s Department Store in St. Cloud during High School. He was employed by the City of St. Cloud Park Department from May 1960 until retiring in January 1998. He was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, and Central Minnesota Public Employees Local 748, which he served as Treasurer from 1970 – 1997.

Dave enjoyed traveling, wood working in his shop, spending time on his pontoon, relaxing in his screen house, and being with his family and friends.

Survivors include: his wife Marge; children Todd (Cindy) of Sartell, Vicki (Julie) of Ohio; sister Rosella Woods of St. Cloud; brothers Raymond of St. Cloud and Leo of Cottonwood, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald.
Memorials are preferred to the CentraCare Home Hospice or Quiet Oaks Hospice.
