David L. Szafranski, 71, St. Cloud

April 9, 1944 - January 23, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for David L. Szafranski, age 71 of St. Cloud who passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Scott Pogatchnik will officiate. Private interment will take place at a later date at Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call after 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Dave was born April 9, 1944 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Anthony and Hazel (Hahn) Szafranski. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Cloud Cathedral High School. Dave served his country in the United States Army and Navy as a Medical Corpsman during the Vietnam War. Dave was united in marriage to Corrine F. Budde on May 16, 1970 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. He was employed by Woodcraft Industries in St. Cloud and later as a Security Officer at the Monticello Nuclear Power Plant for 30 years, retiring in 2013. After his retirement Dave was employed part-time by Coborn’s Pharmacy delivering prescriptions. Dave was a member of St. Augustine’s Parish.

Dave is survived by his wife, Corrine; his sons, Jon (Anna) of Minneapolis, Paul of Maple Grove and Michael (Debra) of Fargo, North Dakota; three grandchildren, William, Kathleen and Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Anthony.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
