David J. Toffel, 61, Waite Park

November 26, 1953 - August 9, 2015

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for David J. Toffel, age 61, of Waite Park. David passed away suddenly on August 9 at his home. Burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Popple Creek with full military honors.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday, both at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

David was born November 26, 1953 in St. Cloud to Wally and Sally Toffel. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged in 1976. He worked for Knife River for 25 years and was due to retire later this year. He married Janice Guggenberger – Wilson on January 14, 2005. He was a member of Eastside VFW Post 4847 and Waite Park American Legion Post 428.

David is survived by his wife Jan of Waite Park, children Stephanie (Raymond) Wilson of Minneapolis, Jesse (Susan) Wilson of Cottage Grove and Anthony “AJ” Wilson of Waite Park, four grandchildren Haley, Dylan, Jacob and Lillyana, brothers and sisters Judy Reller of Bloomington, Donna Scanlon of Columbia Heights, Jim (Alyce) of Bloomington and Peggy (John) Hajek of Deadwood, SD.

Preceding David in death were parents, and brother-in-law Ron Reller.
