Daniel Roman Snyder, 91, Sauk Rapids

August 6, 1923 - April 3, 2015

Private Funeral Services will be at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Daniel R. Snyder, age 91, who passed away Friday at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Cloud. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Sauk Rapids.

Daniel was born August 6, 1923, in Sauk Rapids to John & Garcia (Clifton) Snyder. He was a US Navy Veteran of WW II. Daniel married Leona Rose Haakonson on August 11, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. They were life-long residents of Sauk Rapids. He worked as a boiler plant operator at the VA Hospital in St. Cloud for 34 years. Daniel was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. He liked to garden and tend to his apple trees. Daniel especially enjoyed spending time with his family and offering his handyman talents to anyone in need.

Survivors include his children, Lynn (Barry) Conklin, Grapevine, TX, Connie Smith, Roswell, NM, Beth (Don) Wyatt, Aurora, CO, John (Margaret), Sauk Rapids, Joe (Sue), St. Cloud, Jim, Tuscon, AZ, Diane (Yasuo) Yokose, Takarazuka, Japan, Lori (Ron) Bjorklund, Sartell, Jeff (Lynn), Sauk Rapids, Amy (Gary) Meier, Chanhassen, Sara (Pat) Mohs, Sauk Rapids, sister, Rose Mendel, and niece, Sandy Cornelius, Plymouth, 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Leona, November 23, 2011; parents and brother, Clifton.

Daniel’s family would like to send a very special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Prairie Ridge Memory Home, Sauk Rapids and Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Cloud.
