ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud residents braved the weather and moved to the beat at the River's Edge Convention Center as part of CentraCare Health's 7th Annual "Day of Dance."

Deb Hall is the Director of Outpatient and Outreach at CentraCare Health. She says exercise is the best way to help your overall health.

"Exercise and a healthy diet is how we will all live longer and in the winter that's tough to do so that's why we sponsor events like this so people can get out and do something fun," says Hall.

Dance instructor Michael Klein knows a thing or two when it comes to dancing.

"As far as exercise dancing has been something I have done for many years," says Klein.

Especially since it helped him recover after bypass surgery in 2009.

"When I went in for surgery they actually said my dancing helped me for my surgery because they had to take a vein out of my leg and it was in really good shape," says Klein.

Throughout the night guest enjoyed performances by dance students, a dance instructional taught by Klein and other activities.

"In addition to taking action for your heart we have health screenings available so you can measure your body in the winter and again in the Spring and see how you improved," says Hall.

"I think this event is interesting cause you can check out the many booths and also see other dances and had a chance to pick up new steps," says Klein.

Hall says over 100 hospitals will do some sort of event this month as part of their Spirit of Women programming.
