ST. JOSEPH -- In our third installment of Cuisine Unseen, we check out the Gorecki Dining Center on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict.

The Gorecki Dining Center is open every day of the school year and features many different food stations offering a variety of foods not only to students from St. John's and St. Ben's but also the general public.

A staff of over 100 students and non-students along with Carmen Welinski, the Culinary Manager of the Gorecki Dining Center, prepare the buffets at the dining center.

"We run breakfast, lunch, and dinner and our Sunday brunch is very popular to our outside community," Welinski says.

"We probably have the best bacon in town, so [the brunch] is a big hit - we go through a lot of food."

The Gorecki Center features stations offering pizza, desserts, home-style cooking, an American grill and a Mongolian grill.

Welinski says the Gorecki Center offers something for everybody.

"The menu changes daily, probably the most [popular] station is a toss-up between the Mongolian grill and the Homecooking stations," Welinski says.

The Gorecki Dining Center works basically as an all-you-can eat buffet with no limitation on which stations you can eat from.

"As you come into the dining center, you pay at the register and then you can go to any station and eat as little or as much as you'd like," Welinski says.

"The selection is huge, and the food is really good."

The Gorecki Dining Center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends.
