UNDATED - The winter season is off to a good start with a lot of fresh snow, and that means cross country ski trails are ready for you to get out and enjoy the season.

There's a lot of great options for cross country skiing in central Minnesota.

Stearns county has four parks with groomed trails: Mississippi River Park, Quarry Park, Warner Lake Park, and Wildwood Grant-In-Aid Trail. All of their trails are listed in good to excellent condition. The Quarry trails are lit up at night for a moonlight ski until 10:00 p.m.

Out at Collegeville, you can ski on the trails at St. John's Arboretum.  They say they're groomed and have more trails this year.

And several Minnesota State Parks have groomed trails too.
