Crime Prevention Tips for Holiday Shopping
ST. CLOUD - When you're out and about doing your holiday shopping, you may be joined by more than just other shoppers. The St. Cloud Police Department warns there's thieves among you as well.
Crime Prevention Specialist John Justin has put together a checklist of things to keep in mind as you head out to your favorite stores.
He says you should double-check to make sure your vehicle is locked and that your packages are out of site.
While you're in the store, avoid carrying extra cash, pay extra attention to your purse or wallet, and avoid overloading yourself with packages.
If you're out and about by yourself, stay in well-lit areas.
Teach your kids to ask a store clerk for help if you get separated.
And be patient and have a plan.
