WAITE PARK -- A game invented in the early 1600s is gaining popularity again in the St. Cloud area.

20 kids came out to compete in the American Cribbage Congress (A.C.C.)  youth tournament this (Saturday) morning at the Moose Lodge in Waite Park.

9th grader Toby Alice was inspired by his grandpa to try out the game. He says his grandpa encouraged him to play during family get togethers and he's been hooked ever since.

Alice says the game does require some skills.

"You need to know math -- [cribbage] it's really easy to learn, you just have to find your points and get comfortable playing your cards." -Alice

5th grader Devon Eggert says cribbage has helped him improve his math skills and it's a really fun game.

The A.C.C. will be give out scholarships to each winner. Tournament Organizer Dan Sand says winners will receive their scholarships after graduating high school.
