Crews Battle Grass Fire near Monticello [VIDEO]

UNDATED - Weekend travelers are cautioned to be extra careful with fire.

The wildfire risk is high in much of the state.

The D-N-R's Jean Goad says counties in the southern and western parts of the state have the highest fire risk.

Higher winds could add to the problem today and tomorrow.

Photo journalist Steven Sohlstrom got some pictures and video of a grass fire near Monticello on Thursday.  He says he spotted the fire just after 7:00 p.m. near County Road 18, and 72 St NE. The plumes of smoke were visible for many miles and multiple EMS personel responded to the fire.
