Crash Shears Off Power Pole, Driver Cited

ST. CLOUD -- Xcel Energy had to be called in to replace a power pole that was knocked down after a traffic crash Tuesday.

St. Cloud Police were called to the area of 4th Street and 9th Avenue South at about 7:30 p.m. Police say 25-year-old Kevin Klein was heading south on 9th Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the pole.

Klein was cited for reckless driving and no seatbelt use. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for minor injuries.

The pole came to rest on top of a house at 319 9th Avenue South, but no one else was hurt.
