FALCON HEIGHTS (AP) — Minnesota State Fair officials say they set a single-day attendance record on Sunday after cooler weather finally swept in.

Monday is the final day of the Fair. Attendance a day earlier was 236,197 .

That's higher than the previous single-day attendance record of 229,000 people.

Last week's sweltering heat kept away thousands, with attendance one day failing to crack 100,000. Food vendors are hoping the last-minute cool stretch helps them make up for business lost during the heat wave.
