ST. CLOUD -- Working in the elements is part of the job for MnDOT road crews. But, with excessive heat warnings recently, those crews need to be cautious like everyone else.

St. Cloud Maintenance Supervisor Mike Kiley says they debrief the workers first thing every morning and if it's too hot, put the strenuous work on hold.  Kiley says they have several jobs to do and can adjust their schedules accordingly. He says if it's too hot, they can always perform maintenance on equipment inside their shop.

Kiley says they make sure their workers are staying hydrated, taking breaks and ultimately watching out for one another on the job.
