ST. CLOUD -- The city of St. Cloud is preparing for a busy construction season in 2015. City Engineer Steve Foss says they have just over $16,000,000 worth of road construction projects to complete this summer.

The projects on tap this season include a continuation of improvements in the Seberger neighborhood at a cost of $5,100,000, complete reconstruction of streets and sewer in the Raymond Avenue neighborhood including Wilson Avenue totaling $7,500,000 and re-paving 9th Avenue South.

Foss says 9th Avenue North was completed last year and now they'll focus on the south end.  Crews will complete a $1,500,000 overlay project on 9th Avenue from 4th Street South to 22nd Street South.  The remainder of 9th Avenue South/Clearwater Road will be re-surfaced in 2016.

Foss says they also have $1,100,000 worth of local street overlay and sealcoating projects across the city.  Improvements are also scheduled on a short stretch 22nd Street South between County Road 74 and Oak Grove Road at a cost of $833,000.

The projects will be paid for through a combination of funding sources including Municipal State Aid, property assessments, sewer and water utility funds and general obligation bonds.
