SAUK RAPIDS -- Sauk Rapids is putting the finishing touches on a plan to reconstruct about a half-mile of South Benton Drive this spring.

City Engineer Terry Wotzka says the $1,500,000 project will take place between 2nd Avenue South and Summit Avenue.  The project will include new pavement and curb and gutters.

Construction is expected to start in early May and wrap up in late August or early September.

Wotzka says there will be times this summer where a detour will be needed around the construction zone.

Other projects in Sauk Rapids this summer include neighborhood improvements in the 8th Avenue South and 9th Avenue South areas.
