COLD SPRING -- Peace Lutheran Church is holding their annual "Christmas in the Barn" service the next two nights in Cold Spring.

Pastor Mark Astrup says that the service provides an interesting and more rustic alternative to the more traditional Christmas service.

Astrup says that the barn setting was initially born out of necessity, but has become a yearly tradition thanks to the hospitality of two members of the church.

Astrup says he believes that the Christmas in the Barn service has seen success because it offers people a chance to connect to the very first Christmas.

Astrup says that many features of the service add up to an enjoyable experience for him personally.

Even though it is a church service, Astrup advises all who attend to account for the cold - saying to dress more for snowmobiling than for a normal Sunday service.

The service will take place at 7:00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Christmas Eve) about four miles north of Cold Spring on County Road 2.
