A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cold Spring for Colton Joseph Walz, age 19 months, who passed away in his loving mother’s arms at Hennepin County Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A visitation with friends and family will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the church. Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.

Colton is the beloved son of Joseph Walz and Lyndsey Dorf of Richmond, MN. Colton had the ability to light up a room with his mischievous smile and contagious giggle. He loved helping around the house and feeding the animals on his grandparents’ farm. Before he could even walk, Colton was climbing everything he could reach, from couches to kitchen tables, to the tallest slide on the playground. He never failed to try new things with determined eyes and a crooked grin.

Of all the joys in his life, Colton’s big sister and best friend Callie, was at the top of the list. The two were inseparable from morning to night. Colton learned everything he knew from Callie, including his love for misadventure. They spent much of their time singing and dancing to their favorite movies. Colton loved splashing his sister in the tub and everywhere he could, much to her dismay, but the two always ended every disagreement with ‘knock-over hugs” and sticky kisses. They never went to bed without kissing good night and greeted each other with giggles every morning.

Colton was loved and adored by everyone who knew him. Although he will be greatly missed, God gave us another Guardian Angel.

Colton is survived by his parents, Joseph Walz and Lyndsey Dorf; sister, Callie; grandparents, Gregory and Sandra Walz, Thomas and Janelle Dorf; aunts and uncles, Nicole (Clint) Luhr, Jacob Walz, Jessica Walz, Alexandra Walz, Andreana Walz, Andrew Dorf, Megan(Chad) Dorf, Jeremiah Dorf, Nicole Dorf, Jonathan Dorf, Madalynn Swanson, Emma Swanson; cousin, Claire Luhr; great-grandparents, Gloria Dorf, Catherine Bergquist, Harold Bergquist, Janice and Ardell Marquardt; and many great-aunts and great-uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucinda Dorf; great-grandparents, Wendelin and Ilse Walz, Joseph R. and Irene Theis, Lawrence Callen and Donald Dorf; great-uncles, Joseph P. Theis, George Walz; great-aunt, Carol Wieber.
