Collegeville Couple Honored as ‘Angels in Adoption’

COLLEGEVILLE - A Collegeville couple has been honored as "Angels in Adoption".

Cherie and Todd Beumer were nominated for the national award by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.

Last year, Cherie and Todd were in the process of adopting their second Nepali child, Maya, when the U.S. Government terminated its Nepal adoption program amid concerns over fraud.  Cherie spent over five months living in Nepal help to prove that Maya was an abandoned orphan.  The adoption was finalized in January, and Cherie returned home with Maya to her husband and son Alex, who was also adopted from Nepal.
