ST. JOSEPH - The College of Saint Benedict was recently awarded around $150,000 to help create more paid internship opportunities.

The grant will benefit junior students at both Saint John's and Saint Ben's. Money will go to support a total of 33 paid internship programs.

The award money will be divided into five part time paid internships in the spring of 2015 and 28 full-time paid internships in the summer of 2015.

Current juniors with financial need who are required to complete an internship to graduate can be considered for a paid internship supported by the grant.

The College of Saint Benedict was among 40 colleges and universities to receive a Great Lakes Career Ready internship grant. The grant hopes to give students an edge in the job market with real life experiences.
