Coldest Game For Vikings Since 1981

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings' win over Carolina was the team's coldest game since their last season at Metropolitan Stadium in 1981.

It was 12 degrees at kickoff Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium with a wind chill factor of minus 15. The Vikings are playing their first full season outdoors since 1981 while work continues on a new stadium.

The last time it was that cold for a Vikings game was Dec. 10, 1981 against the Kansas City Chief at the Met when it was 10 degrees at kickoff. Wide receiver Greg Jennings says he told his teammates it's a lot warmer when you win because your adrenaline is pumping and you're jumping around.

Jennings played seven seasons in Green Bay before joining the Vikings in 2013.
