COLD SPRING -- The Cold Spring Police Department is accepting applications to fill  their open police chief position.

The Cold Spring City Council put together a hiring committee to search and narrow down applicants. Interim police chief, Chris Boucher is not expected to apply for the position.

The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. on December 31st. The hiring committee plans to evaluate all of the applications on January 6th and narrow their list down to three finalists.

The finalists will be presented to the city council for a final decision sometime in late January or early February.

Committee chairman Fran Ramler says he expects about 18 to 25 people to apply. Applications can be picked up and turned in to the Cold Spring City Hall.
