COLD SPRING - Authorities responded to a house fire in Cold Spring on Thursday night.

The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. at 14124 264 Street in Collegeville Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Kristen Moncrief called 911 after hearing a loud noise and seeing the house fill with smoke.

The Cold Spring and Rockville Fire Departments were able to put out the blaze. Moncrief and her cat got out of the home safely, however, her dog didn't make it out and died from smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire hasn't been determined but is believed to have started in the lower level. The damage was estimated at $50,000.
