COLD SPRING - The Cold Spring city council has picked a candidate to fill their empty seat.

Jayme Knapp will now serve two years on the council and will then have to run for re-election.

Knapp was sworn into the council during their meeting on Tuesday night after the interview process. During his interview, Knapp said he would like to work to improve the roads in Cold Spring and balance both commercial and residential development in the city.

Three other candidates were interviewed by the council: Mickie Cheeley, Andrea Robinson, and Bill Thelen.

There was an open seat because Bob Thelen, who was a council member, was elected Mayor back in November.
