SARTELL -- It's a step into the next generation as the Coborn's Superstore in Sartell completed a significant remodel.

Over the last several months the store went through a significant remodel. Vice President of Marking Dennis Host says the improvements provide a more modern design and showcase the companies enhanced focus on fresh selections.

"We capitalized on trends, we're looking at consumers and what they're looking for in how they are eating," says Host.

The grocery store expands to 62,000 square feet thanks to the liquor store moving to their own building on the adjacent corner of the property.

Some of the store's focal points include the new deli area called "The Kitchen," larger produce section, the "Bake Shoppe," the "Chop Shoppe" where customers can get their fruits and vegetables cut right away, and expanded Meat Market.

"We wanted each department to be it's own destination, kind of a boutique stop as you shop. You'll see there are no two departments alike," says Hosts.

The store also added a Kitchen manager, Sous Chef, Cheese Monger, Pit Master and Cake Decorator to help within each department.

Host says this is step one in what hopes to be a company wide trend throughout all their stores.

"We know we need to put some investments into those other stores and the feedback we great from this location will help with that," says Host.

Coborn's is a 95-year-old employee owned grocery retailer with approximately 8,000 employees and 55 stores across the Midwest.
