CLEARWATER (AP) - A new wildlife management area in central Minnesota has been dedicated to local veterans.

The 604-acre site will provide a place for people to hunt and enjoy nature. It will be open to both veterans and the general public.

The project is part of Pheasants Forever's Build a Wildlife Area campaign. A spokesman for the organization says it's one of the first times a wildlife area has recognized military veterans instead of the property donor or seller.

The $3 million plot of land is located in Stearns and Wright counties. The property includes native prairie, wetlands and oak woods.
